Motor IdentificationThe AFC1500 & Enforce systems use two different types of motors. One motor type is the "Pigtail" type and the other is a bulkhead connector type. They are interchangeable and can be used in any motor configuration as far as the motor control is concerned. However, they may not be able to be interchanged when mounted in the actual application. Physically the bulkhead connector motor requires more space at the back of the motor to get the motor connector on and off. Pigtail motors are typically used in applications which have little space for the motor if the connector was mounted on the back end.
Pigtail Type Motor (RM1, RM2, RM3, RM4, RM5) The motor connector (below) is attached to a "Pigtail" cable at the rear of the motor cover. This affords a very close fit in tight space requirements.
Bulkhead Connector Type Motor (RM1A, RM2A,
RM3A) The motor connector (below) is mounted directly to the end of the motor cover. This provides better cable management and less cable movement.
