What is causing the fastening reject I receive from the system?

Fastening rejects occur when final fastening results are outside of the allowable defined preset limits.  These limits are defined/set by the user usually after a detailed study has been done to define these limits. (Such as using the FASTECH function in the 1500 AFC Software package)  Rejects indicate a problem with the fastening joint/process NOT with the fastening equipment.  Many factors can affect the fastening joint during fastening to cause the parameters to be outside the acceptable limits such as bad threads, burrs, rust, dirt, bad bolts/nuts, cross threads, gasket material, etc. and the precision with which this equipment can detect these problems is the main reason it is used.

There are two methods to determine the cause of rejects.  Using the AFC1500 Software package in the Monitor mode will allow detailed inspection of the reject cause.  The other method is using the Axis Unit Display Unit attached to the rejected spindle.  Follow the instructions below.

From section 7.1.2 of the manual.
